    Olympic Leadership

    Becoming an Olympian is one of the greatest accomplishments an athlete can achieve. It takes years of dedicated leadership—leading oneself through countless hours of rigorous and disciplined mental and physical training.

    In the next Kiwi Leadership Network USA webinar, Olympic Medalists Nick Willis and Lorraine Moller join us to share their stories of reaching the pinnacle of sport and becoming one of the world's best. You will learn about their mindset, how they dealt with setbacks, and what they believe allowed them to achieve greatness.

     

    Anthony Mosse, Honorary NZ Consul-General San Francisco and Olympic medalist will give opening remarks.

    This session will be moderated by Rod Dixon, Olympic medalist and NYC marathon winner

    Nick Willis

    2x Olympic 1500m Medalist

    Nick Willis is one of New Zealand’s greatest middle-distance runners. He is a five-time Olympian, competing in the 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games. Nick won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in 1500m.

     

    Nick has also competed in three Commonwealth Games and is the first New Zealander to win a Commonwealth gold medal in the 1500m, which he did in 2006 in Melbourne. Nick attended the University of Michigan on an athletic scholarship and is based in Ann Arbour, MI. He has won the prestigious Fifth Avenue mile five times and has run a sub-4 minute mile every year for the last 19 years. Nick is currently the NZ record holder for 1500m (3:29.66) and 3000m (7:36.91).

     

    Nick is currently Athlete Experience Manager for Tracksmith.

    Lorraine Moller

    Olympic Marathon Medalist

    Lorraine Moller is one of New Zealand's greatest marathon runners. She competed in four Olympics— 1984, 1988, 1992, and 1996—and won a bronze medal in the women's marathon at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. Lorraine has also competed in three Commonwealth Games and won two bronze medals in the 1500m and 3000m in Brisbane and a silver medal in the marathon in Edinburgh. She has also won many international marathons including the London Marathon 1982, Boston Marathon 1984, and has a personal best time of 2:28:17. A graduate of the University of Otago in Physical Education, Lorraine is based in Boulder, Colorado, and is the co-founder of the Lydiard Foundation. She is the author of her autobiography, On the Wings of Mercury.

    Anthony Mosse

    Honorary NZ Consul-General San Francisco & Olympic Medalist

    Anthony Mosse is one of New Zealand's greatest swimmers. He competed in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic games where he won a bronze medal in the 200m butterfly. He has competed in three Commonwealth Games with four medals including two gold medals in 1986 and 1990 in the 200m butterfly. Anthony is a graduate of Stanford University with a BA (honours) double major in political science and economics and an MBA. He also was the captain of the Stanford swimming team. Anthony is an advisor, board director, finance, and strategy executive with over 20 years of public and private advisory, board, investment, executive coaching, and business development experience. He was a past VP of Finance and Treasurer for Virgin America and is currently the Honorary NZ Consulate for San Francisco.

    Rod Dixon

    Olympic Medalist

    Rod Dixon is one of the most versatile runners that New Zealand has ever produced. He is an Olympic medalist, winning the 1500m in the 1972 Munich Olympics, and he is the winner of the 1983 NYC Marathon, where he ran one of the fastest marathons at that time in 2:08:59.

     

    Rod has competed in three Olympics: 1972, 1976, and 1984. He also qualified for the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, but these were boycotted by New Zealand. Rod also competed in the 1974 and 1978 Commonwealth Games, and he has been a race director and previous Olympic coach for Fiji.

     

    Rod is the founder of Rod Dixon's KiDSMARATHON charity which helps educate KiDS about exercise and nutrition, empowering them to take their health into their own hands, and inspiring them with visits from running champions.
